The Hon Jenny Macklin MP

Pensioners give them a fair go

The Hon Jenny Macklin MP
Minister for Familles,
Housing, and Community Services
Parliament House
Canberra ACT 2600

22nd September 08

On reading your Budget Report in the “News for Seniors” has inspired me to give you a suggestion on how you could better help Pensioned Off Aged Pensioners.
I believe the governments could better help Pensioners by scrapping some of the means test, give the Pensioners a chance to help them selves, without making them a victim of there unfortunate circumstances.
With the shortage of employes in Australia would it not be better to allow Pensioners to help in a way by allowing them to do a little work for the community for whatever money they can earn over and above there Pension, without being victimized by deducting money from there miserable Pension,
I believe the Pension should be looked on as a payback for paying taxes all our lives, and not as if the Governments are giving us some kind of handout.
If the Government would look at this with an Open Mind it would solve a lot of problems for Pensioners and the shortage in work force, for example if they were allowed to do jobs such as a handy man or house keeping for Working Families for a small amount of money, this would help both parties, those small business’s and there employees who are working all day then have to come home and start work, Cleaning, Cooking, taking care of there children, for example in Singapore Families running a small Business Employ full time Malay housekeepers who live in the home, cleaning and cooking all day or at there own leisure, it works very well, thousands of Malay’s commute over the Border with special passes, this has contributed to Singapore Prosperity in the last 30 years.
With the high cost of living would it not be better to allow the Pensioner to supplement his her Pension in this way over and above whatever the Pension should be, this would ease the Governments commitment and give the Pensioner some extra money to make there lives better, should they want a Holliday, or something to make there Miserable existence a little better, they would also feel better about them selves because mixing with the Community in this way would give them a feeling of Worth, without being victimized .
What all Governments do is Employ thousands of people to check Pensioners Incomes, give them a go, and leave them alone, they don’t cause much harm to the community they could be a Positive force in our Community, we have a lot of Knowledge from past experience, and why should we have to be passing on this well earn't knowledge for nothing only as Volunteers.

Yours sincerely

Another Letter to Tanya Plibersek MP

If you seriously want to House the Homeless

16/02/2009                Affordable Fireproof Rooms and Shelters

Dear  Tanya

Thank you once again your letter dated 16th June 08 pointing out what money the government is providing through State, Territory and Local Governments.
On a more basic level I would like to point out some other benefits in building Dome buildings, rooms and Shelters.

We are at a time in history where we need to look at alternative safe Building Designs. Homes being built today are not Fire Proof and don’t reach the needs of many Australians.

With the Destructive Fires recently in Victoria, Governments must now look at changing the building codes, to ensure all homes in fire hazard areas are fireproof or have a fire safe room. Please let me tell you how this can be achieved very simply and cost effective A Dome Concrete Room could be built on to the back of every home and disguised to blend into the design and look like a conventional home; this would double as a fire safe room. This can be achieved very simply with my Simple Patent Formwork

The benefits of building Dome fireproof Homes Rooms, or Shelters are mind blowing, if you have ever looked into the concept you will understand the benefits.

As we have seen in the past week the horrific fires in Victoria, if every home had a fireproof Room or Bunker, I believe this would have prevented the tragic loss of so many lives.
I must point out some of the benefits of a Concrete Dome Buildings, a Tornado will not blow them over, they are Fireproof and people could use them to shelter should there be a fire, they are Maintenances free, and I believe they would stand up to a Tsunami.  They are also cooler than a conventional building..

This Dome concept could also be used for water Storage, they could be built throughout Australia, to catch Water in Winter, water would be available in summer, when Australia is most vulnerable to fires, as we have seen in Victoria.
Build them near homes on school grounds, reserves, roadways or any easy accessible location. Big dams are of no use to the individual; water has to be available to everyone in a fire

Please contact me should you believe there is a need to save peoples lives and property, with safe affordable housing, the time has come where we must look at safety as a priority and I believe most Australians would agree with me.

I am hoping your government will look at this concept and help me overcome some of the obstacles in making this become a reality.

Yours sincerely

On seeing your interview with Kerry O’Brien on ABC TV 7:30 Report
I would like to bring to your attention a way of giving all Australians an affordable home and at the same time reducing the cost to Governments.

Especially the neediest homeless beggars young and old we see on the streets around Australia every day.

If you will give me the opportunity, I can show you how this objective can be achieved. With or without first homebuyer benefits. Because these Homes are so cheap to build it is mind-blowing.

The Homes being built today are not practical for the average Poverty stricken Australians. We need to look at different and alternative ways of tackling the Homeless problem.
For the average Australian, homes are overbuilt, expensive to build, unsafe, hot, costly to maintain, fire hazards for children, the list can go on.

I have a Patent for a Formwork to Build Homes that will cost 1/3rd of what it is costing to build a small home, and overcome all these problems.
Government Department don’t seam too interested, I have telephoned several Government Departments without success, they never return my calls.

Hopefully your Department will listen to me as you have nothing to lose and much to gain. A Building Engineer has told me my Idea (Patent) is Brilliant.

I am contemplating on going overseas to Thailand before the end of April, as a Mission there is very interested to have one of these Homes built for there Children and I will show them how this is achievable.

I can be contacted by telephone in Australia before the 20th April, otherwise please contact me by mail or email.

Yours sincerely
